Thank you for your interest in our company. Here is a little background on who we are and how it all started.....

In the late 1940's, our founding father, William "Bill" Connelly joined forces with Mr. Agnew to create the Feed & Seed Shop in the Roanoke City Marketplace. They specialized on much needed materials such as chicken feed, dog food, grass seed, and fertilizers.

In the late 1950's, there became a high demand for highway grass seeding applications. Bill took advantage of his knowledge of agriculture and agronomy creating a hydro-seeding division. Environmental Turf & Erosion Control Services  has operated providing hydro-seeding and erosion control applications into the early 2000s.

In 1973, Bill Connelly passed away unexpectedly, leaving his son, Eugene "Kip" Connelly to take over running the family business.  Kip has been instrumental in the growth and stability of the company and is still President of W.S. Connelly Co. today.

In 1976, Kip and his two brothers, Peter and Robert, purchased Landscape Supply Inc. out of Lynchburg, Va. They moved the business to Salem, Va. from 1976 through 1984 when they moved once again to Roanoke into the building that still holds our corporate offices to date at 101 Madison Ave. NW.

Landscape Supply Inc. opened our first Richmond branch in the Short Pump, Va. area in 1999 and has since opened another branch in the Midlothian, Va. area in 2004. Continuing our Virginia expansion has lead us to opening two additional branches in Charlottesville in 2006 and our newest branch, in Williamsburg in the spring of 2007.

For the majority of our years in business, we have catered to the green industry  professionals providing quality professional products and materials to help their efforts in business. In 1998, we decided to use our years of knowledge in horticulture and lawn care to introduce the same quality professional products and materials to the homeowners by opening our first Turf Store in our Roanoke facility. We have now opened our second store in Richmond, Va. in the spring of 2007 and are very excited to bring our expertise and products to neighbors. We were tired of trying to get lawn and garden advice from a plumber....we bring a new healthy educational environment to shop for your lawn and garden needs with professionals who know their stuff when it comes to plants and turf.
